About the Event
Holly has been designing and hand-fabricating jewelry since 1980. She currently makes "one-of-a-kind" custom jewelry pieces for clients using unusual semi-precious stones, sterling silver and high carat gold.
Nature has been a constant theme for inspiration in her designs over the years. Her influences range from classical Greek to Art Nouveau to Modern. She became immediately intrigued with The Botanical Jewelry category at the Philadelphia Flower Show while participating in her club's exhibit in 2001. Her first entry in 2005, "a Celtic Ring Brooch," won a Blue Ribbon, and she has been impassioned with botanical jewelry ever since. She enjoys the playful approach of designing with natural components that she finds for creating both botanical pieces and inspiring authentic jewelry design.
She has very kindly offered her outdoor spaces, ie, garage and porch, at her home in Stockton for a live workshop. During the workshop, Holly will show us some of her own botanical jewelry designs, and describe the botanical materials she has used to create them.
In the meantime, while out walking, take the time to look for botanical materials that could ultimately be dried and used in your design. Holly's simplified guidelines and be found on the Floral Design & Flower Show Committee page.
