Bay Weber, Jeff Hoagland and Jim Waltman of Stony Brook Millstone Watershed
This experienced trio will speak from their areas of personal expertise regarding the Nature Play Zone being created at the Watershed. Bay Webber is the landscape architect who has created an amazing design she will share with us. Jeff currently serves the Watershed as the Education Director and he will speak of the importance of children getting back outside and playing amongst the natural world. Jim has served as the organization’s Executive Director since 2005. This presentation will leave us all wanting to be outdoors as much as possible!

Larry Zink, Photographer
With a BFA in Graphic Design and Photography from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, Larry Zink has been shooting professionally for thirty years. He is currently the Director of Photography for Macy’s. Later in his career, Larry took his still life photography skills outdoors and has been hooked since. Several years ago, he published a book, Naturally New Jersey, and now spends his free time going to outdoor photo shoots across the U.S. Larry will share with us his breathtaking photos and offer invaluable tips on composition, light, texture, setting, etc.

Tania Gindilis, Floral Designer and Sustainable Landscape Designer
Tania is the owner of Pensive Weeds in Pennington, a full service floral and landscape design company. In addition to beautiful floral designs, Tania also specializes in sustainable landscape design with a special focus on locally sourced and native plants. She will present her very creative ideas for using your garden as an outdoor living and entertaining space.

Katie Bliss, Twelve Months of Gardening
Katie Bliss is the owner and founder of Bliss-Full Gardening Services which provides comprehensive design, installation and maintenance to gardens of all sizes, as well as being the contract gardener for Van Vleck House & Garden, a public garden in Montclair. Katie’s informative and entertaining presentation will feature tips and advice on how to maintain any property and garden all year long by describing the monthly tasks needed to keep gardens healthy and looking their best. For those interested, Katie will share her very detailed “Year Long Gardener” handout at the end of the presentation.

“Wonders of Water”
This year’s Philadelphia International Flower Show promises to make a big splash! The theme, “Wonders of Water,” is an intentional departure from prior US or foreign country themed shows. It is designed to offer equal parts inspiration and conversation regarding the worldwide importance of water. Be prepared for lots of fountains, ponds, water features and rain gardens! After enjoying the show and the shopping, a tasteful box lunch will be provided on the way home!

Jacinda Martinez, Edible Landscaping and Art.
Jacinda Martinez is a farmer, designer, educator and artist. She began her journey by growing food in the UK where she spent time working on permaculture gardens in England, Scotland and Wales. Jacinda then moved to the US and embarked on her own to start an edible garden design business called Grounded Local. Her aim is to educate and work with her clients to grow a successful garden. She has since found a balance between growing food and pursuing her love of photography and fashion. Jacinda will present a slideshow about adding edible elements to your garden. She will also bring live, dried examples and professional photo prints of her plant-based fashion art show which she has been developing and showing for the last eight years called, Fashion in the Raw. Photography prints are for available for sale.

Don’t miss this action packed and fun year-end meeting! In addition to a fabulous hort show, we will have our Annual Meeting, club awards, group photo and a delightful lunch. To round out the morning, please bring plant cuttings (as many as you’d like) for a club wide plant exchange. This is the perfect opportunity to share your cultivating successes or to add to your own collection.
