VIRTUAL HORT SHOW


ANNUALS
Class 1 - Single stem grown primarily for foliage
Class 2 - Single stem grown primarily for flowers

PERENNIALS
Class 3 - Single stem grown primarily for foliage
Class 4 - Single stem grown primarily for flowers*
Class 5 - Single stem NJ native
Class 6 - Single stem NJ native cultivar
Class 7 - Collection of 3-4 stems of different species, varieties or cultivars
Must have accompanying key card or diagram which indicates name of each entry.
Will be judged 70% horticultural merit, 20% artistic, 10% nomenclature
*Roses must be exhibited with two sets of leaves.

TREES & SHRUBS
Class 8 - Single flowering branch
Class 9 - Single berried branch
Class 10 - Single branch NJ native
Class 11 - Single branch NJ native cultivar
Should be no longer than 24” from the lip of the container to the tip of the branch

GEOPHYTES (Bulbs, corms, tubers, rhizomes)
Class 12 - Single stem (may be blooming or a foliage stem)
Geophytes are plants with underground storage - bulbs, corms, tubers, rhizomes. For example, caladiums, re-blooming irises, dahlias, autumn crocus, gladioli, colocasias, calla lilies and canna lilies.

VEGETABLES
Class 13 - Collection of 2 to 6 home grown vegetables and/or fruit species
One entry per exhibitor
Display may be on a plate or in a container of your choice, not exceeding 10” in diameter. May be grown from seedling or seed. If grown from seed, please complete the GCA propagation entry card on the SBGC website, also available at the help desk before the show.

ORNAMENTAL GRASSES
Class 14 - Collection of any 3 to 5 stems
One entry per exhibitor
Not to exceed 36” in length from the lip of the container to tip of stem.
No grasses invasive in NJ will be permitted, see http://www.njisst.org/ for
list of invasive species

HERBS
Class 15 - Single plant
Class 16 - Collection 2 to 6 home-grown herbs

One entry per exhibitor

Display in a container of your choice, not exceeding 18” in diameter.
If grown from seed, please complete the GCA propagation entry card on
the SBGC website, also available at the help desk before the show

PAR
Class 17 - An exhibit of outstanding horticultural merit which does not qualify for entry elsewhere in the horticulture division. Each exhibit is judged against perfection. Minimum ownership of six months is required.
